The Student at VCCS

The vision of Ventura County Christian is to transform and equip students to be leaders and positive examples of the truth of Jesus Christ. The board and faculty of VCCS believe that all Christians should abound in wisdom, virtue, and knowledge. Therefore, a rigorous educational experience in which students are challenged spiritually, physically, and intellectually is deemed essential to raising up and preparing Christian individuals to “Shine like Stars in the Universe.”

The nature of our mission and vision for Christian education requires that the prospective student must be willing to support the school's program of operation in word and deed, both inside and outside of school. It should be remembered that Ventura County Christian is not a school for students who are experiencing extreme difficulties in academics or behavior. The school therefore reserves the right to decline acceptance to any student who has been involved in a crime resulting in a conviction in a court of law; the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, or any tobacco products; sexual promiscuity; or other behavior that has resulted in expulsion or suspension from another school. Similarly, if an enrolled student at any point exhibits this kind of behavior or indicates an attitude opposed to the school's vision and mission, he or she may be asked to withdraw.

The Admission Process

The VCCS admissions process begins with an application for enrollment. A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 is required with the application for the expenses incurred in evaluating new applicants.

The next step in the process is an interview with administration personnel. Ventura County Christian is very careful to admit students who share its vision for personal growth academically, physically, and spiritually. During the interview, both parents and student will participate in determining the student's needs and in setting goals for his or her education, as well as adherence to our vision and standards of academic and spiritual excellence. (If you'd like to set up an interview appointment, call the office at (805) 641-0187 or click here to email the office)

The following documents are also required as the school considers each applicant:

A current copy of CTBS or SAT scores
An unofficial copy of academic transcripts
A completed reference form from each of the following: pastor or youth pastor, a teacher from the past three years, an adult friend of the applicant for secondary students only.
Copies of immunization records, birth certificate and proof of medical insurance
Once the student is accepted, he or she is required to sign our Standard of Conduct Agreement, a formal statement by which the student indicates his or her willingness to live according to the standards of VCCS at all times, in and out of school. At this time a registration fee of $75 is paid to cover the expenses acquired in registering students, processing permanent records, maintaining student files, providing transcripts, and scheduling costs.
