VCCS offers at the high school level college preparatory courses, including honors and advanced placement (depending on demand). Bible truths are emphasized as an integral part of each subject, in addition to Bible classes that students are required to take each semester. In fact, the school’s entire curriculum is written explicitly from a Christian perspective, something the school’s board and administration believe is a vital element in raising up Christian students.

Weekly chapels for the middle and high schools, led by local church pastors or other Christian speakers, engage the students in spiritual dialogue and contribute greatly to building character and wisdom and a greater understanding of who students are in Christ. Elementary school chapels are led by faculty in a manner that is engaging and inspiring for the younger audience.

VCCHS trains a student-led worship team to lead worship in the middle and high school chapels, as well as to go out to local middle schools and other venues as ambassadors, sharing their faith through the gift of worship.

Our high school curriculum is certified by the University of California and California State College systems, an acknowledgement of the quality of education offered through our program.

Hume Lake outdoor education is also offered at the middle and high school levels as a part of the Fall semester. Students spend a week in Kings Canyon with trained counselors who instruct them academically and spiritually.

In addition to core academic subjects, there are a variety of elective courses offered to enrich students and to fulfill their graduation requirements such as Art, Drama, Worship Team, Spanish, Set Design, and others.
